WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE OF THE INERT GAS EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM?
The inert gases used in Oxeo extinguishing systems are evenly distributed in the event of a fire and expel oxygen from the source of the fire. Thanks to the three-dimensional mode of action, even hidden fire sources are reliably and safely extinguished before re-ignition. For this reason, Oxeo extinguishing systems are very suitable even for fire protection in particularly risky areas with flammable liquids and other hazardous substances, as well as in areas with high fire load.
Quick fire extinguishing with inert gases reduces the damage caused by the fire to a minimum. In addition – in contrast to water, foam or powder – secondary damage caused by the extinguishing agent is excluded: inert gases do not leave extinguishing agent residues and can simply be removed from the affected area by ventilation after the fire has been extinguished. Oxeo fire extinguishing systems are therefore always an exceptional solution if it is worthwhile to protect valuable property or irreplaceable cultural objects from destruction by fire. Additionally, inert gases are electrically non-conductive, so they can be used in areas with electrical or electronic components. Thus, Oxeo extinguishing systems avoid long downtimes and costly interruptions of operations.
ADVANTAGES
Halocarbon extinguishing systems fight fires using Novec™ 1230 3M™ Extinguishing Chemical or HFC-227ea Chemical Extinguishing Agent. This extinguishing agent is non-corrosive and non-conductive. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for protecting spaces containing electrical and electronic equipment. The systems extinguish fires without leaving any residue, while providing a high level of personal and environmental protection. They are particularly suitable for protecting small and medium-sized rooms, and the extinguishing agent can be compactly stored, either inside the room or elsewhere.
- The systems provide excellent extinguishing efficiency in rooms with electronic and electrical equipment.
- The extinguishing agents are non-corrosive, non-electrically conductive and show a very high environmental compatibility. They do not leave any residue and can be easily removed from the room by means of ventilation..
- Working pressures of up to 50 bar allow the installation of more extensive pipelines and the storage of fire extinguishing agents outside the protected area.
- Through economic multi-zone systems, one tank of extinguishing agent is sufficient to cover several zones.
BENEFITS AT A FIRST GLANCE
Oxeo inert gas extinguishing systems use inert gases, such as argon or nitrogen, and the resulting decrease in oxygen content. They are suitable for protecting spaces with high-quality, but sensitive equipment, where residue-free extinguishing is preferred – without the use of water, foam or powder for extinguishing. Argon and nitrogen are natural components of the ambient air, they are also non-toxic and non-conductive.

- Outstanding extinguishing effect even in specific risk zones and areas with high or hidden fire hazards;
- The inert gases used are non-conductive and do not leave residues – which makes them ideal for protecting highly valuable and sensitive equipment;
- In the concentrations required for extinguishing, the inert gases used are non-toxic and therefore suitable for use in places where people access them;
- Nitrogen and argon are natural components of the surrounding air – without any harmful effects on the atmosphere;
- Nitrogen and argon are available almost everywhere – which means quick and economical reactivation after action;
- Economical multi-zone extinguishing gas storage systems can be implemented for several extinguishing zones;
- High degree of flexibility for modification or extension measures, thanks to the Oxeo storage system;
- Oxeo technology allows for more compact storage of fire extinguishing agents, requiring up to 50% less space;
- The constant flow technology provides a constant flow of extinguishing agent in case of fire – which enables the use of ventilation grids that are up to 70% smaller;
- DesignManager calculates the perfect option and solution for every project.
