The foam monitor is used outside, for extinguishing fires from a safe distance and for preventive cooling of objects that are subject to ignition. Depending on the version, the monitor can be directed towards the target manually, electrically or hydraulically via remote control.

These components facilitate the testing of alarms. Weekly tests are conducted with water from the pump distributor before the proportional device. The foam/water mixture does not have to be drained or removed.

DESIGN
To generate foam, a proportional amount of foaming agent is added to the water flow using a mixing device. The resulting water/foaming agent mixture is foamed with air in downstream foam generators and then applied to the burning object using the dispersion method most appropriate for the type of risk.
